Improved Inventory Allocation for Work Orders

We’ve added smarter inventory allocation tools to help you better manage materials throughout the Work Order lifecycle.

What’s new:

  • Choose when materials allocate—either when the Work Order is created or when it is released.
  • Allocation updates automatically sync to Intacct, giving you accurate visibility into committed and uncommitted inventory.
  • Allocations automatically adjust when Work Orders or material lines change.
  • A new “OPS Work Order Details” panel in Intacct shows real-time allocation and availability by warehouse.

Benefit:
You get clearer insight into what inventory is actually available, helping you prevent shortages and improve planning accuracy.

Automatically Generate Sub-Assembly Work Orders

OPS now helps you create sub-assembly Work Orders when a parent job requires components with low or no stock.

What’s new:

  • A new Procure From option allows you to choose whether materials should come from stock, a new Work Order, or a Purchase Order.
  • If items have shortages, OPS displays all required subassemblies (up to 10 levels deep) along with quantities needed.
  • You can generate new sub-assembly Work Orders in a single click or choose existing ones.
  • Costs from sub-assembly Work Orders roll up automatically to the parent job.
  • Helpful alerts notify you when deleting or completing a Work Order that has linked sub-assemblies.

Benefit:
This feature streamlines production planning and ensures all required components are available—automatically.

Link Purchase Orders Directly to Work Orders

You can now link specific Purchase Order lines to material lines on a Work Order, making cost tracking more accurate and transparent.

What’s new:

  • Select an existing PO or have OPS generate one automatically when adding materials to a Work Order.
  • View all linked Purchase Orders directly from the Work Order screen.
  • When the PO is invoiced, the vendor charges flow automatically into the Work Order’s cost totals.
  • Alerts notify you if you try to complete a Work Order while linked POs are still open.

Benefit:
You gain complete visibility into purchased materials and labor costs, ensuring Work Order costing is accurate and up-to-date.
